Earlier this month I started planning for IFJM – International Fake Journal Month. Roz Stendahl, the creator of IFJM, had just announced the 2016 theme, “Shift In Place” and I was thinking about the alternate “me” who would journal through April. Since I think better on paper I began writing the essential questions to answer as I fleshed out my character.
But the most important question remained unasked… Why? … Why does she journal? Only when I answered this question did my character gain form, and once decided, the journal and media choice was obvious.
